Farmers' market marks ten years of local food
BEACONSFIELD Farmers' Market celebrates its 10th anniversary on Saturday with a party in the Market Place.
Market manager, Diane Harker, said: "I put the success of the market down to the enthusiastic support of local people who not only appreciate the exceptionally wide choice of fresh and quality produce always on offer but are also keen to encourage their local producers. We have cheese, wines from Seer Green, baked goods, pies and cakes, yoghurts from Chalfont St Peter, beef and chicken, and freshly squeezed apple juice.
"We have the products that people want, and that's why we've lasted.
"While some people were suspicious and not sure when we first proposed the market it soon caught on, and now creates a buzz every month when it comes to the town."
To mark the occasion, Kate Keane from Gerrards Cross, will be selling wholemeal pizzas while Amersham bakers, Utterly Delicious are baking a birthday cake which will be cut by Jenefer Farncombe of the Hall Barn Estate.
The party runs from 9am to 12.30pm with a toast from the mayor at 10am.
