COMMUTERS on the A40 faced long delays into London this morning due to an accident involving a motorbike and four cars.

The southbound carriageway was closed for an hour between 8.30 am and 9.30 am while a motorcylist was airlifted to Wexham Park Hospital with serious injuries.
There is extensive damage to the central barrier near junction One and suspected damage to a lighting column.
The motorway was partially re-opened at 9.30am by which time traffic was queuing back past junction four.
