Night vision to target twilight criminals
CRIMINALS looking to commit night-time crimes in Beaconsfield will have to think again after a CCTV camera in the town was installed with night-vision technology.
The camera, in Windsor End, will be used to tackle theft from cars and low level anti-social behaviour when the sun sets.
It has been jointly funded by Beaconsfield Town Council, South Bucks District Council and Thames Valley Police although the exact cost has not yet been released.
Sergeant Steve Bobbet, of the Beaconsfield neighbourhood policing team, said: "We have wanted an additional camera in Holtspur for some time and I welcome the support the town and district councils give to community safety.
"The new technology will enable us to clearly identify offenders and vehicles, which will make it easier for us to bring those responsible for thefts in the car park, or those committing anti-social behaviour, to justice."
