Ashes stars descend on Stoke Park
FOLLOWING the English victory in the second Ashes test match this week, stars of the series descended on Stoke Park for a charity golf day.
Current stars such as Ricky Ponting, Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook were joined by legendary spin bowler Shane Warne for the Ashes Golf Day on Tuesday this week.
The event saw England take on Australia around an 18 hole golf course, presided over by television stars Sir Michael Parkinson and Rory Bremner.
Following the Australian defeat at Lords on Monday, Australia captain Ricky Ponting said he was keen to make amends for the disappointment of the previous day.
He said: "The lads are feeling pretty good and not too down about yesterday. We've got time to prepare before the next test, and we're all looking forward to playing a bit of golf at this great venue here today."
The England team was made up of players including Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Jimmy Anderson and Barry Richards, while Australia was represented by stars such as Ponting, Nathan Hauritz, Ben Hilfenhaus, Jason Gillespie and Shane Warne.
