AN INTREPID Beaconsfield resident is set to climb one of the world's most famous mountains in memory of his father.
Andrew Harman, will traverse Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, the world's highest free standing mountain.

A MOTORCYCLIST came off worse following a collision with a horse in Seer Green.
Police are currently trying to trace the rider of a horse who was involved in an accident with a motorbike in Bottom Lane on Tuesday, July 14 at around 5.45pm.

BRAINS hit out at Tett comments

BUCKS Residents Against Incinerators (BRAINS) have hit out after a Bucks County Councillor accused another anti-incinerator group of scaremongering.
Martin Tett, Buckinghamshire County Council's (BCC) cabinet member for planning and environment said that he believed that SAVI, a group set up to oppose a possible incinerator in the north of the county, were using scaremongering tactics to put people off an incinerator being built in that area, and said it was a case of nimby-ism.

A LARGE new apartment block could soon be built in Beaconsfield despite the concerns of residents and the parish council.
A planning application has been submitted to South Bucks District Council (SBDC) for a block of 14 apartments to be built on land in Station Road next to a number of other homes.

Youngster wins gardening prize

A YOUNGSTER from Beaconsfield has been rewarded for his gardening abilties.
Guy Quelch, seven, entered Beaconsfield Garden Centre's Plant a Garden in a Dish competition and won first prize.

PLANS for a controversial new children's centre have been scrapped, to the delight of residents.
Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC) had wanted to build a new centre in the grounds of Holtspur School as part of the Government's Sure Start scheme, which would have run a range of activities every week day from 8am to 6pm.

Beaconsfield mayor gives sermon

BEACONSFIELD'S new mayor held the first ever civic service at a Holtspur church.
The event happened on Sunday July 12 at St Thomas's church, and was attended by Dominic Grieve MP and several town councillors.
The service followed traditional lines and also featured readings from Janet Simmons, the deputy mayor councillor.
The main sermon was read by Rev Stephen Painting, before refreshments after the event.

Ashes stars descend on Stoke Park

FOLLOWING the English victory in the second Ashes test match this week, stars of the series descended on Stoke Park for a charity golf day.
Current stars such as Ricky Ponting, Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook were joined by legendary spin bowler Shane Warne for the Ashes Golf Day on Tuesday this week.

LOVERS of old fashioned rail travel will be in for a treat when a special steam train passes through Beaconsfield.
The Bekoning Bard train will be running from London Marylebone to Stratford upon Avon on August 1.
