Nail art invented by Jordans woman taken up by Beyonce

EVERYBODY who's anybody is at it: Beyonce, Pink, Lady Ga Ga, Katy Perry, Lily Allen and now your own Advertiser reporter Polly Manser.
Nail art that is. Would it make me look more like a superstar and less like a 43 year old mother of two? I was about to find out.
I visited beauty therapist Helen Griffiths in Chalfont St Peter (07920 461847) to have my temporary polymer nails applied. For pictures see today's Advertiser.

The idea couldn't be simpler - they are simply brightly patterned covers that stick onto your nails and are then cut and filed to fit.
They were invented by Dawn Lynch-Goodwin from Jordans and took off in a big way after Beyonce wore them to the American Music Awards.
Ms Lynch-Goodwin - who who divides her time between Jordans where she was brought up and San Diego where her business partner lives - has named the product Minx.
That is a sexy, confident, naughty but fun individual who lives every day like it is a big, ripe juicy apple ready to be bitten, according to her website. And that's what I'm want to look and feel like with my new nails.
Ms Lynch-Goodwin said: "We spent two years targeting celebrities and stalking their manicurists, literally in some cases. We gave them to Beyonce's manicurist, and he texted me to say she was wearing them to the music awards. We were in a total head spin. We got pictures of her on the red carpet and after that there was a frenzy of interest."
Now even beauty salons at Harrods and Harvey Nichols are clamouring to get them the nails which are already used by around 200 outlets across the UK.
It took about 45 minutes for Mrs Griffiths, who works from home in Ashlea Road, to apply my nails, which will last for four to six days.
After that it was just a matter of the photographs. Did I look more like Beyonce? Don't answer that question. Let's just say I'm probably the only person in Bucks with silver and black dog tooth nails on one hand and gold leopard print nails on the other. For more information visit www.minxnails.com
