Keran Henderson released from prison

KERAN Henderson, the Iver Heath childminder who was jailed after shaking to death a baby left in her care, has been released from prison.
Mrs Henderson was jailed in November 2007 after a jury found her guilty of the manslaughter of 11-month-old Maeve Sheppard.

She has now served 18 months of her three year sentence and has been allowed to return home to her husband and two sons to spend the rest of her sentence on probation.
Her conviction caused outrage for months after she was imprisoned, and serious doubt was cast upon it when two of the jurors in the case came forward and told the press that they believed that the decision to send her to jail was wrong.
A group of campaigners led by Mrs Henderson's friends and family launched a campaign to free her, which became the centre of intense media interest.
The case was also featured on the BBC's Panorama programme, because of the uncertainty and controversy which surrounded the conviction.
Mrs Henderson, who had been a scout leader in the village before her conviction, is not allowed to talk to the press as part of the terms of her probation.
A statement from Carers 4 Carers, Mrs Henderson's campaign team, said: "This week, Keran has reached the half way point of her sentence, serving 18 months for manslaughter. She is now able to serve the remainder of her sentence on probation.
"As part of her probation conditions, she is not allowed to have any direct or indirect contact with the media, so at this time it would be appreciated if Keran and her family's privacy could be respected.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us to date and demonstrated your support for Keran in so many different ways."
An appeal against the conviction has been launched and it is set to be heard before the end of this year.

We'd like to hear from you.
