The Beaconsfield School sends help to third world

Posted by Polly Manser on Apr 16, 09 02:13 PM in Beaconsfield News

Ten huge boxes full of supplies are headed to one of the poorest regions of the third world thanks to pupils and staff at The Beaconsfield School.
The boxes include filter cartridges and water treatment tablets, paid for by Jordan and District Rotary Club, who are taking the boxes to Derbyshire from where they will be shipped to wherever they are needed when disaster strikes.

The effort was planned by sixth former Hannah Longley who encouraged classes of pupils to fill the boxes which also contain knives and hammers, which were packed by staff.
The charity behind the scheme is Aquabox, which is run by Rotary Clubs across the country.

We'd like to hear from you.
