Climate change machine on show at Quaker House
Few of us are ready for the deep changes needed in society and to our way of life if major climate change is to be avoided.
But you can learn more about how to be ready by visiting a Green Energy Machine at the Jordans Quaker Meeting House in Welders Lane, Jordans, next weekend.
A vehicle housing examples of renewable energy, the machine has been built to help people understand technologies in harnessing sustainable energy.
On hand will be David Matthews, an expert on sustainable energy, who will encourage both children and adults to try interactive exhibits on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
The visit coincides with a lecture about how society must change to reduce the effects of climate change which takes place at the meeting house on March 19 at 7.30pm.
Laurie Michaelis of the Living Witness Project will argue that only by committing to simplicity and equality will we successfully deal with the issue, in a talk Beyond Individualism - Quakers, Community and Climate Change. Tickets are £10, just turn up.
