This experienced and well-travelled male quartet consists of Michael Steffan, baritone; Mark Fleming, tenor; Steven Brooks, tenor and Richard Bryan, counter-tenor. During the evening it was clear that Steven Brooks could also sing falsetto and Richard Bryan tenor.
The group engendered a friendly feeling in the hall, and Richard Brooks congratulated the audience, telling us that such groups of music lovers are becoming scarce.
The programme's emphasis was on music of the 17th century but included one Beatles number and an amusing rendering of 'The Lambeth Walk' 'backwards.

Presenting seven of Chaucer's Tales gave the Group a merry variety of parts and playlets in the spirit of Carry On Chaucer which they seemed to enjoy performing as much we enjoyed watching.
Some of these updated stories were definitely not classifiable as Parental Guidance. As the English appetite for bawdiness and licentiousness is unchanged after 600 years, they were extremely funny Most of them had a homely moral.
A talk on the future of the MOD's Defence Language School at Wilton Park takes place at Beaconsfield Town Hall on Thursday next week.
Entitled Current Activities and Future Plans for the Defence School, it will be given by Wing Commander Martin Exley, commanding officer of the school on London Road.
The talk takes place after the AGM of the Beaconsfield Independent Electors Association on March 26 at 8pm. All are welcome.
A family with a front drive large enough to park several cars was has been refused planning permission to build a garage because it might kill two 99 year old Cyprus trees.

It is curtains up tomorrow for girls at High March School in Beaconsfield when they perform a play about children evacuated from London to the seaside to parents.
After a term of rehearsals, all 32 year six girls at the Ledborough Lane will take part in The Evacuees, which has been produced by teacher Isabelle Crawley-Boevey and directed by teacher Susie Matthews. Teacher Richard Elliott will be accompanying on the piano. Pupils watched the dress rehearsal on Tuesday.
More than a hundred pupils at The Beaconsfield School wowed an audience of 250 peers and parents at a sell out evening of modern dance and gymnastics.
The third annual Beatz show on last Tuesday proved a massive hit containing everything from street dance and stunts to ballet and poetry. This year many of the 23 performances were based on dances from films.
Children at Farnham Common Infant School learnt about the importance of having a healthy lifestyle.

People living in and near Candlemas Mead are jubilant after a developer was told that it cannot build a row of houses on land they use for parking.

A Big Brother style diary room in an inflatable office proved a popular diversion for pupils of The Beaconsfield School on their lunch break.
Pupils queued up to get inside and to take part in a consultation organised by Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Action Group to encourage young people to voice their opinions on issues that matter to them.
