Score draw as cops and youths do battle

Posted by Greg Burns on Oct 14, 08 04:38 PM in Beaconsfield News

Footie.jpgA hard-fought football match took place at the weekend when Beaconsfield police took on a team of the town's youngsters.
The match, which was played at the fields in Wooburn Green Lane, ended 3-3 despite the police taking a 2-0 lead.
Police organised the game, which was kicked off by Beaconsfield mayor Henry Wilson, in a bid to improve relations between themselves and the youth, having had success with similar schemes in the Farnhams and Burnham.

PC Iain Torbet, who played in the game, said: "It was great fun and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
"It was very competitive but there were no silly tackles flying in or any dirty play so it was all in good spirits.
"We find that organising football matches is a good way of building bridges with the youngsters, and it has worked very well in other areas." It gives us something to talk about with them and it means that we are not seen completely as authority figures."
The police took an early lead and then quickly added another to widen the margin.
The youth team then pulled one back but shortly afterwards the police scored again to make it 3-1.
However, in the last 20 minutes, the youngsters scored twice to level the match, making the final result 3-3.
PC Torbet said: "We started very well but in the end their fitness levels were better than ours and that meant they were able to score the two goals they needed to draw the game.
"There were some very tired police legs out there towards the end of the game, and they took advantage of that."

We'd like to hear from you.

Another positive story involving our local Youth. Perhaps all the doubting Thomas' who pour scorn on any story involving our future generations would do well to read this article, and see what a positive effect that engaging with young adults can actually bring!

A wonderful idea, which should be repeated the length and breadth of the country!

Don't be so dimwitted! The story is about well-behaved youth, not the scum you coddle. Don't ever confuse the two.

To label a child as "Scum" as you have done is almost as reprehensible as the far-right attitudes that you evidently support.

Do you not realize that these children all too often come from broken homes, have no father figure and therefore think that life is a waste of time? Little wonder that they veer off the straight and narrow path and into a life of crime given your attitude towards them!

What they need is love, and some interaction with Adults, and respect will duly follow in most cases. It's a proven method. I prove it on a daily basis in my professional career. Open your eyes and realize that the "scum" as you so eloquently put it, are our future, and we should be giving them all the love and support that they need to make that transgression to Adulthood.

Your medieval and frankly outdated mode is simply disgusting, and has no place in 21st Century Britain!

Sarah Street, YOU are the scum! And don't let anybody tell you different.

Slip of the tongue, Freudian one? LMAO!

FYI:

transĀ·gresĀ·sion
(trns-grshn, trnz-)
n.
1. A violation of a law, command, or duty: "The same transgressions should be visited with equal severity on both man and woman" Elizabeth Cady Stanton. See Synonyms at breach.
2. The exceeding of due bounds or limits.

Sarah "Transgressor" Street, go back to your 2% constituencey. They surely need you as much as you need them. There is a reason why libs are at the bottom of the political totem pole. Ponder the many reasons while you hugga hoodie. Then, get back to the call center and shilling for Uncle Nick.

More knuckle-dragging fascists invading this website, and pouring scorn on anything to do with our youth!

You people are an absolute disgrace, in fact I would go as far as to say you are nothing more than ill-informed, ignorant bigot's.

As long as this country doesn't have the likes of you in charge, we can continue to enjoy a multi-cultural society, and all the benefits that it continues to bring. God help all of us if you are examples of the Tory vote!

I'd like to drag my knuckles across your face, dimwitted fascist bidge!

"pouring scorn on anything to do with our youth!"

No, only pouring scorn on the deserving - the yobs for whom you are an incessant apologist. Learn to read AND comprehend or stay off the page you simpleton!

Sarah Street said:

I might have known you would rear your ugly (racist) head again Mr. Cross!!

No child in this country is a Yob, and should not have the indignity of being labelled so - misguided perhaps, but not a Yob by any stretch!

As you are no doubt one of those Daily Mail readers, can I possibly ask that you and your "FRIENDS" refrain from commenting further on this Website, as you will never understand what disenfranchised and misunderstood actually mean.

Doubtless, you and your ilk will continue to slate me for my Political leanings and beliefs, however I know for a fact that lots of Readers actually applaud people like me who take the stance that I do, and defend today's youth in the vitriolic face of hatred displayed by ignorant right-wing fascists like yourself.

I thank (and pity) you...

Jared Cross said:

Stop fooling yourself. I slate you for your supidity, you vile, self-important, communist hussy.

Sarah Street said:

Supidity? Slip of the tongue, possibly Freudian?

Sticks and stones....can you imagine how broken Society would REALLY be without people who think and act like me?

You would do well to get some counselling yourself Mr.Cross.....I can arrange it for you if you like??

Jared Cross said:

Stupidity is as stupidity does. Crack on you vile quiff.

Is this Street wench the same mentally challenged woman who promised to shut her trap a month or so ago? I can arrange it for you if you like?
