Discussions begin over parking mayhem

Candlemas-Mead-4.jpgResidents of Candlemas Mead, which has become clogged up with dangerous parking, met with council chiefs last week to discuss the problem.
People living in the road have become fed up with cars being parked on both sides of the road and blocking the pavements.
They are concerned because emergency vehicles are not able to get through when the problem is at its worst, and people are often forced to walk in the road rather than on the pavements.

Last week, residents, police and members of Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC) met in the street to discuss a solution to the problem.
Ray Foster, who lives in Candlemas Mead, said: "This is a huge problem. There are far too many cars parked here and it annoys me because there are other places where they could go.
"There are plenty of roads in Beaconsfield with huge houses on them but no one leaves their cars there. It is unfair for so many cars to be left here and it is dangerous as well. We need some proper action to be taken on this issue, but the council have not done anything to help us yet."
Lynn Harris, who lives on the road and whose son Callum, nine, suffers from haemophilia, said: "If he were to need an ambulance desperately it would not be able to reach him and he would have to walk along the road to meet the ambulance, which is very worrying."
Candlemas-Mead-2.jpgPCSO Deborah Bahan, who is trying to help the residents, managed to persuade the fire service to bring an engine along to the road to demonstrate that they would be unable to drive along it.
Ken Moloughney, team leader of traffic management at BCC, said: "We understand that there is an issue here with obstruction. There are a number of option that we will consider to solve the problem, which could include a parking permit system or yellow lines being painted along one side of the road."

We'd like to hear from you.
