Bex Talking Newspaper.jpgThe charity which helps blind or visually impaired residents of south Bucks keep abreast of the news have celebrated their 25th birthday with a special awards ceremony.
Beaconsfield Talking Newspapers were joined by colleagues from Bucks Association for the Blind, to enjoy a dinner and presentation of long service awards at Beaconsfield Golf Club.
The charity began preparing, recording, and copying a taped version of the Buckinghamshire Advertiser in 1983 and now have a team of 40 volunteers who help provide the service free of charge to anyone who has difficulty reading the newspaper.

Founder and chairman of the charity Rosemary Segrove said: "None of this would have been possible without the support and friendship given by all volunteers, the recipients of the tapes, as well as the people of Beaconsfield and beyone who have been so supportive of the service."
At the end of the evening, on August 29, Mrs Segrove was presented with a surprise bouquet of flowers and a silver Amanda Dish from her colleague Valerie and Ken Kingshott for her special dedication and contribution over the years.
Other long service awards went to: 25 years; Peter Merriman, Daphne Merriman; 23 years; Richard Campbell, Felice Aspinall; 20 years; Frank Smith, The Green Family; 18 years; Sue Robinson; 17 years; Geoffrey Green; 16 years; Janet Cassell, Janey Wilson, Ted Tearle; 15 years; Wendy Reilly, Joan Orford, Barabra Fuse; 14 years; Hilary Kinglsey-Brown; 11 years; Di Gross, Kirsteen Hendry.
