Clampdown on Holtspur youths sees results
A BOY of 17 was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis in Holtspur and a car has been crushed as the clampdown on anti -social behaviour in the area continues.
Two weeks ago police community support officer Geoff Dargavel enlisted the help of residents to keep log books of incidents of anti-social behaviour.
In recent months these incidents, which include graffiti, alcohol abuse, and the anti-social driving of cars and scooters, have been on the increase.
Stepping up patrols in the area and using the community as their eyes and ears saw the arrest and formal caution of the youngster as well as the repossession of three scooters and mini moto's, one of which was crushed.
PCSO Dargavel said: "People have complained about shouting and swearing, minor criminal damage, graffiti, disrupted traffic and dog faeces being thrown around and as a result we have made tackling anti social behaviour in Holtspur our number one priority.
"Although residents in both Cherry Tree Road and Mayflower Way have reported a reduction in incidents and we now have a much better idea of who the trouble makers are, I would like anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour to get in touch.
"Together with partner agencies such as South Bucks District Council we will continue to target the trouble makers at every available opportunity and with the help of residents ensure anti social behaviour of a few individuals does not spoil the quality of life for the law-abiding majority."
But one resident of Cherry Tree Road, who did not wish to be named, said the problems was becoming so severe in Holtspur that residents could be forced to turn into vigilantes.
He said: "It is a nightmare down here. They throw things at cars or drive their little scooters like maniacs. They stand on the post box and shout abuse and urinate in the middle of the street. It is just a small handful of kids and everyone knows who they are. Soon residents will become so incensed they could take matters into their own hands because the police are not doing enough."
Anyone with information should call police on 0845 8505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

So please tell us all just HOW arresting someone for carrying ILLEGAL drugs and then giving them a caution is classed as a "Result"???! Hmm??!!
To the un-named resident who makes the point of people meting out justice themselves, I whole-heartedly sympathize and support your comments.
TVP, if you can cut the bull, stop massaging statistics, and get on with prosecuting these little sods, rather than sending a glorified traffic warden who has no more powers than me, the message might start to sink in.
I also notice that they have refused to rise to another readers challenge by explaining their (lack of)actions recently? Something to hide, perhaps?
