Burglars posing as police target Beaconsfield

On Thursday, August 7, at 9.50pm three men forced their way into the home of a 59-year-old female in the town claiming to be police officers.
The woman, who is disabled, let the offenders in after they showed her fake warrant cards and accused her of harbouring villains.
Two of the men were white and of slim build and one of them had short dark hair and was wearing a grey or fawn waist-length coat with combat trousers.
The other man was of mixed race, slim build, and had a spotty complextion with all three aged between 18 and 22.
At around 9.10pm on the same day a man approached the back door of a Beaconsfield house posing as a CID officer.
Showing his passport he asked to be let into the garden.
The man is white with a European accent and was wearing a white round neck t-shirt with dark trousers.
Lucy Groves, crime reduction advisor for South Bucks said: "I advise residents to be cautious when shown an ID card - just because a caller has a card doesn't always mean that it is genuine.
"The police or utilities workers are unlikely to visit without an appointment and will not demand that you open the door to them.
"It is important to remember that a genuine caller won't mind if you take your time or refuse to let them in."
