Cop enlists help of community to catch yobs
A dogged police community support officer is making it his mission to tackle yobs terrorising Holtspur residents.
.
In his bid for success PCSO Geoff Dargavel is enlisting the help of the community to become his undercover spies by giving them log books to report crimes and warned that behaviour contracts and anti social behaviour orders could be issued to the louts.
In recent months a group of yobs in the area have been causing criminal damage to property, spraying graffiti, loitering, drinking alcohol and taking drugs, and intimidating residents.
A number of warnings have been given out to people using their cars anti-socially by revving their engines late at night, driving on footpaths, or racing and two scooters have been confiscated from owners.
More than 30 residents in the Holtspur area have now been issued with the log books and any information they gather will be passed onto and analysed by investigators.
PCSO Dargavel said: "Residents of Holtspur are remarkably tolerant and understand that young people will occasionally be boisterous. However, they have a right to enjoy peace and quiet, especially late at night.
"We regularly patrol the area, but trouble makers are obviously wary if they see someone in uniform and wait until we have disappeared. This scheme will give us a detailed picture of who the offenders are and what they are doing.
"ASBOs are one of the options which we could use but first we would have to give out acceptable behaviour contracts (ABC).
"With residents being our eyes and ears we can get a really good picture of what is going on and, hopefully, this will bring us success in clamping down on this type of behaviour."
Problems in the area have become so severe that L&Q Beacon, who own some of the housing in the area, said it would use its powers to evict any troublemakers who are its tenants.
The Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Action Group have also put tackling anti-social behaviour in Holtspur at the top of its list of priorities.
Beaconsfield sergeant Dominic Williamson said: "Residents have identified anti-social behaviour as one of their top concerns in the area and we are taking action."

Whilst Geoff Dargavel's enthusiasm is to be commended, this is not going to make the slightest jot of difference is it!
Perhaps Sgt. Dominic Williamson would like to explain to both residents and the Readership just WHY it takes TVP nearly an hour to respond to a 999 call on a quiet Tuesday evening, and that the Police have to come from IVER (practically a Met Police area!), by which time the little sods smashing innocent people's property up have got away?!?!?! Do we not have any Police Officer's in South Bucks anymore? How many Police Officers are there on patrol at any one given point in the evening in Beaconsfield and Holtspur?
I can probably work out the answer for myself, but I defy YOU, Sgt. Williamson, to answer in this newspaper column!

That's a bit of a harsh assumption to make. Most of these kids come from a deprived background, and have nothing else to do. They need engaging in activities of some sort, to try and stimulate their minds, rather than your typically Adult attitude of "just leave them to get on with it".
A lot of them come from broken homes - I speak as an authority on this as I deal with them every day in my work.
Perhaps the local Council could provide them with things to do, and fund some trips to the seaside etc etc, rather than provide nothing and moan about it when they go on the rampage through sheer boredom. Show them some love for a change...you never know, it might make them think twice about their actions!
Are you for real SARAH STREET, or are you just being provocative?
Assuming that you are who you say you are, might I remind you that it's precisely this lily-livered, hand wringing spineless left-wing attitude that has all but brought this Country to it's knees. What these feral scum need is discipline, and Boot Camp or similar if they cannot get the message.
You and your ilk are an absolute disgrace to this District!!
